ARTIST BIO

I am a British artist now based in Central Portugal where I have my studio in an old stone Portuguese house. I gained a BA Hons Degree in Fine Art Painting in 1996 in the UK.
An abstract painter inspired by streets of texture and buildings of decay.
Working on canvas, paper and board in Acrylic paints, marble dust, lime putty and raw pigments. 
My technique of painting is characterised by immediacy of a painting process working with the urgency of decision making along with composition, spraying scraping at the surface with a variety of tools. Despite the appearance of forces meeting I constantly assess and push the boundaries of the medium exploring the pigments and their reactions to one another. 
I have my work in collections in Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, United States, United Arab Emirates, Luxembourg, Italy, Ireland and the UK.
